A Cascade bouquet & Historic Mansion

A lovely bride contacted me about doing the flowers for her and her fiancé's wedding at Carlton Towers, I was available on their date and was excited to get going with designing the flowers.

After our consultation I learnt that she really wanted a cascade bouquet. Now I had never made a cascade style bouquet before so this was exciting and nerve wracking. I was confident I could do it though and started practicing.

The best thing was the wedding was in June so I had a real wonderful selection of flowers to use.

Starting with the show stopper cream Peonies and peach garden Roses, then adding in the taller white Delphiniums, floaty Ammi and then the all important trailing sweet peas which really gave it that cascading feel.

When it comes to making a cascade bouquet, you almost have to do it the opposite way round to a hand tied or stand up bouquet, starting with the long trailing pieces first then adding the more blousy solid flowers in. Whereas with a stand up bouquet I would start with the big blousy focal flowers and work my way out to the more floaty trailing flowers.

Here was the result, I hope you love it as much as the couple and I did.
